How do I report a power outage in my area? ›

If a utilities issue and you are in Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP) territory (City of Los Angeles), visit LADWP.com Outage Information page or call 1(800) 342-5397.

Call 9-1-1. Then call PG&E at 1-877-660-6789.

Step 1: Go to PG&E Outage Center to search for an address. Step 2: If an outage is affecting the address, you will see the option to "Get outage updates." Click this link. Step 3: Enter the phone or email where you would like to get alerts.

If you have a powercut or powercut problem in your area then just dial 1912. Tell the BESCOM provider that you have a power cut, you can either tell them about the area where powercut has happened or just give your consumer ID. They will create a docket and the electrician will come and fix the issue ASAP.

As the USDA notes in Keeping Food Safe During an Emergency, your refrigerator will keep food safe for up to 4 hours during a power outage. Keep the door closed as much as possible. Discard refrigerated perishable food such as meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and leftovers after 4 hours without power.

Each planned power outage is likely to last around three hours, and in emergency cases, this could be longer. You'll be contacted before it's planned, with the details of the time when the power will be cut.

The electrical charge goes through high-voltage transmission lines that stretch across the country. It reaches a substation, where the voltage is lowered so it can be sent on smaller power lines. It travels through distribution lines to your neighborhood.

If you are a residential customer who has gone without power for 48 consecutive hours or greater because of severe storm conditions, you may qualify for an automatic payment under our Safety Net program. This program provides a payment of $25-100, which is paid automatically about 60 days following the storm outage.

You may be notified by text, email and/or phone before PG&E enacts a rotating outage in your area. Outages typically last 1-2 hours.

The different colors represent customers affected by the outage. Green means 1–49 customers are without power, Yellow means 50–499 customers are without power, Orange means 500–4,999 customers are without power and Red means over 5,000 customers are without power.

Severe weather, such as high winds, can cause trees or debris to damage equipment. If there is dry vegetation, this could lead to a wildfire. That's why we may need to turn power off to keep you safe. This temporary outage is called a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS).
