Walkthrough: Part Two - DBZ: Legacy of Goku II Guide - IGN (2024)

The King Triceratops is a big bruiser who takes quite a few hits before he'll go down. His basic attack pattern consists of standing around, shaking for a second, then charging in your general direction. There are two ways you can deal with him. Either play it the right way, dodging his charges and hitting him in the side before he can regain his bearings, or you do it the dirty way. The dirty way consists of standing in the path that you entered from. Since it's too small for the Triceratops to enter, he'll charge right up to the beginning of the path and stop. There you go, free hits.

After defeating the Triceratops King, you'll be whisked back to the village. Collect the thanks of both villagers if you want, then head back to West City. You can either take the Flying Circle in the middle of town or walk back, collecting easy experience points from the Kumas. Heading back to the city, you'll be accosted by Frieza's brother Cooler. Frieza…Cooler…get it?? Never mind. At any rate, he challenges Goku to a battle on New Namek, but we don't have to worry about that for now.

When you return to the Mayor's house to tell him of your victory, you'll walk in on an award ceremony for Hercule, arriving just in time to see the city key that was to be presented to the hero stolen. Since Hercule seems unwilling to go after the thief, the job falls to you, adding a quest to your journal. Follow the thief, and he'll lead you to the southwestern path that leads into the Warlord's territory. Talk to the guards and they'll open the gate for you.

Warlord Turf

Watch out for the bazooka-wielding henchmen as you head down the path. Take the path leading down and to the left and you'll eventually find a Golden Capsule. Continue upwards and follow the path until you reach a clearing. Head north and you'll find a dilapidated fortress. Inside on the fortress on the right side it is a Strength +1 capsule, and on the left is a disheveled man. To reach him, go all the way around the right side of the fortress. This is the kidnapped man we were asked to save so long ago, and he'll give you a Golden Capsule as a reward for freeing him.

Head back down to the clearing and notice the cave blocked by a magical shield. We'll be back here later. For now, go south and take the path to the west. When the path splits north and west, ignore the north way: it's a pointless loop. Keep going west and you'll eventually reach the beach. Grab the +1 Strength capsule by the pier, and head north until you reach a flying circle. Use it.

Follow the beach until you come to a cabin. In here is the thief, Robert. He explains that Hercule is a fraud, and reluctantly tells you that the key is back in that magically sealed cave we saw earlier. After he undoes the seal, grab the +3 Endurance capsule in his treasure chest, take a minute to beat on the punching bag if you want, and save your game at the save spot just north of his cabin on the beach. Now head back to the now-open cave and take the key from the chest.

Take the key back to the mayor, who in turn gives it to that charlatan Hercule. Grrr. Now that you've finally completed all the available quests in West City, Piccolo will suggest that you return home. Do as he says.

PART 2

After you return home, three years of hard training pass in the blink of an eye. Now both your characters have gone up a level and learned a new move. Gohan has perfected the Masenko ha and Piccolo can perform the Special Beam Cannon. You can now toggle between your energy attacks with the L button. You've also gained a pair of new quests: Intercept the androids at Amenbo Island and Train with Master Roshi.

First, let's visit Roshi. His house is on an island to the southeast of your home, as marked on the map. Once you land, head east to find a Golden Capsule. That done, enter the house and talk to Roshi to learn the Super Kick Technique. Now you can hold down the A button to charge up your melee attack.

Oh, and this is important: If you want Piccolo to learn his new attack, the Spin Punch Technique, you're going to have to switch characters and send him to Roshi as well. Strangely enough, the Golden Capsule that you picked up as Gohan reappears in the exact same spot as well. Grab it, then head for Amenbo Island as marked by the big star on your map.
